Dutch Bicycles for Kids: BATAVUS and at HEMA!

Why can't American stores carry great bikes for kids?

It's Ladybird's birthday this weekend and we have been shopping for a bicycle!
As we design bicycle bags, Dursun and I have been searching for a bicycle for her that has a rear bicycle rack.  Ummm... impossible!  We have looked everywhere!  This has been very frustrating, especially since all you have to do in Holland is go to HEMA (basically, Target) and pick one out!
So, I've been doing a bit of research online.

Check out these two great bikes- one from Hema

Voor meisjes van 5-8 jaar oud. Met stickers om zelf je fiets te versieren.

Another great bicycle company is BATAVUS.  They've created a great kids bike, as well.  Batavus bicycles are all over Holland- they are as iconic as the Gazelle.

This company actually has a distributer in the Americas- though it's in Canada.
Check out the Batavus website!

The Butterfly is the ideal grandma bike for girls who aren’t quite tall enough for the adult model. The authentic parts such as the dress guards and chain guard covered with varnished canvas make this children’s bike a genuine grandma bike. And its bright colours make the Butterfly a real eye-catcher.
